Hold On, Today Is Going To Be A Bumpy Ride...

At the beginning of this month, I ran up a warning flag concerning where this market was headed for the year. I had my concerns, as did many others, and suggested that it was time to raise cash and, perhaps, buy some put options.

Since that time we've seen the markets trend lower. Yesterday, while our markets here in the U.S. were closed, the rest of the world experienced a pronounced sell-off. The futures are indicating a continuation of that selling on the U.S. markets, today. In fact, the futures have the D.J.I.A. down more than 500 points.

It's probably going to be a rough morning, but there are reasons for some optimism if you did raise cash earlier. I am not a buyer right now, but it is time to pay attention for a buying opportunity. These corrections are scary, difficult ordeals but they are necessary for the overall health of the market. We will make a low and it will eventually turn around and see us make a new high.

I do have some good news for today, however. I am able to share two complimentary webinars that you may want to catch this week.

Today, Tuesday, January 22, 2008, 9:00 p.m. E.S.T.

The first is presentation is entitled "The Option Advantage and Live Options Mastery Classes Preview." It is hosted by Options University and will walk through some simple, yet very effective options trading techniques that he learned through his experience on the exchange floor. They will also preview their upcoming live classes. You may register here:

Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 23, 2008, 4:30 p.m. E.S.T.

The second presentation is called "5 investment mistakes you will probably make in 2008," and is hosted by Elliott Wave International. I'm guessing they will be sharing the five mistakes and how to avoid them this year. EWI's Senior Tutorial Instructor, Wayne Gorman, is teaching the course and will explain how following the News, macroeconomics, microeconomics, the Fed, and the "Easy Way" tend to lead to costly investment mistakes, and how you can avoid falling victim.

You can sign up and here:

Both presentations are complimentary, so if you can make the time I encourage you to attend.
